How to prepare print-ready artwork (and get a perfect proof)
05 Oct 2026 · by PrintStyle Studio
A great print starts with a great file. Follow these rules and your proof will match exactly what gets printed.
File formats
PNG with a transparent background is the safest choice. SVG works well for logos and vector art. Avoid JPEG for designs that need transparency — it always has a background.
Resolution
Aim for at least 300 DPI at the actual print size. A 280×350mm chest print needs roughly 3300×4100 pixels. Upscaling a small image will look blurry in the proof.
Colours
Designs print in CMYK, so neon and very saturated RGB colours can shift slightly. Our studio preview is indicative — the final proof generated server-side is what goes to production.
Before you order
Save your design, review the proof carefully (it is the exact file we print), confirm you own the artwork rights, then approve. That's it — production starts the same day.
